Let’s warm up before our workout routine to stay in shape! We’ll learn how to warm up and stretch in order to exercise safely. Along the way, you’ll learn how to say lots of words about clothes, movements to stretch and get ready to exercise, directions & much more!

💪 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 🏃 : This is the first video of this workout series. – Always make sure to warm up before exercising and to cool down and stretch at the end (the last video of the series is about cooling down).

⏩ Next video of the series – Workout Part 1

📣 Bear in mind I’m not a health or fitness professional. I’ve been dancing for many years and I’m using what I’ve learned throughout the years to come up with those exercises but you should always check with a medical professional when in doubt or in pain. These exercises are light and simple so they can be safely undertaken by most children but always consider the child’s own circumstances. They might need to skip some exercises or do less repetitions or have someone check if they’re doing the movements safely.

📋 In this first exercise video, we are warming up from head to toe in order to work out safely in the next video of the series. This series was born during lockdown as a way to get kids to exercise and move at home with limited space. Our main goal is always to help children practice and learn English, so we obviously include relevant word and sentence repetitions throughout the video. Two birds with one stone!

🧠 If your kids are active and enjoy exercising, this is the perfect opportunity to get them interested in practicing English they’ll like and find useful. By listening to workout-related vocabulary and expressions as they work out themselves, children are learning practical and natural English.

This workout series is based on kinesthetic learning and activates physical memory. Children learn by moving their bodies.

If your kids are not into exercising, you can still try this series, it’s pretty light and fun. If they don’t enjoy breaking a sweat, you can find more fun activities on this channel, as shown in the “Other activities and games” section above. It’s not all about physical exercises!

🗣 Vocabulary you’ll hear and use in this video: clothes, T-shirt, sweatpants, tennis shoes, outfit, to wear, to put on, to have on, to cook, to sleep, to swim, to exercise, to do squats, to stretch, to sweat, to go get something, a water bottle, to warm up, to work out, to bring your arms up/down/out/back in, shoulders, arms, legs, knees, feet, toes, to shake it out, to hop, to bend, to be thirsty, left, right, to stretch out, to the sides.
